Call for submissions: special edition of Injury

‘In Tribute’ edition of Injury journal to honor AO founding father, innovator, and research advocate Prof Stephan Perren’

Perren, who was globally renowned for his strain theory explaining tissue deformation as a critical mechanical factor that controls bone healing, died November 21, 2019. He was a strong advocate for the freedom to explore in research in order to discover true novelties that could be developed and translated.

The submission deadline for the “In Tribute” edition of Injury is August 1, 2020. A panel of experts in the field will review submitted papers for inclusion. Authors of the three best articles will earn certificates and the following awards:

  1. First place: voucher for an AO Trauma course in the country of the recipient’s choice
  2. Second place: AO Trauma book valued at CHF 500
  3. Third place: AO Trauma book valued at CHF 300

Papers submitted for publication must be original and not previously published or presented in a meeting.
Authors should submit their papers to the Elsevier Editorial System (EES) and select article type “SI: ‘In Tribute to Professor S Perren’” at http://go.aofoundation.org/e/700333/jinj-default-asp/j4yr1/81473302?h=jqpbb8GCYzgxF-CmBOGPAkMNt6NlfGqBPIZf-0rUwhw.

Submissions should be no longer than 4,000 words (excluding references) and should include up to four tables and six figures
